Wendy Knowler
Wendy Knowler’s journalism career spans more than three decades, during which she has covered politics, motoring and just about everything in between on a variety of media platforms, and including a stint as a foreign correspondent based in London.
For the past 25 years she has specialised in consumer journalism, currently writing a weekly column for the Business Times, as well as presenting weekly features on 702 and Cape Talk.
Bruce Whitfield (award-winning anchor of Primedia’s “The Money Show”, which is heard each weekday night on both 702 and Cape Talk), discusses financial services-related consumer issues every Wednesday evening with Wendy; and it was Bruce who gave her the nickname “The Consumer Ninja”.
A long-standing judge on the panels of: ‘South Africa’s Gold Pack Packaging Awards’, the ‘South African Loyalty Programme Awards’, and cars.co.za’s annual ‘Consumer Car of the Year’ Awards’. The latter has her spending two days putting the short-listed cars through their paces at the Gerotek testing facility.
Wendy served on the board of the Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance from 2010 to 2015 and currently serves on the boards of the Banking Services Ombudsman and the SA Fraud Prevention Service.
